Aims and Scope
The Journal of social sciences and Allied Research (JSSAR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access publication managed by the Department of Cooperative Economics and Management Studies of the School of Business, Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi- uku.
JSSAR publishes cutting-edge research across all fields of mainstream economics, including interdisciplinary topics such as environmental and health economics, economic geography, social and cultural issues, energy and petroleum economics, political economy, and public policy.
Currently published twice a year (June and December), the journal aims to increase its frequency to quarterly. It welcomes studies using various methodologies, including cross-sectional, cross-country, time-series, country and panel data analysis. To maintain quality and relevance, priority is given to articles that address contemporary economic issues with clear policy implications.
Publication Policy and Ethics
Review Process
All submissions undergo a double peer-review process involving two independent reviewers and an editorial review.
Plagiarism Screening
Submissions are checked for plagiarism. Articles that fail these checks will be desk-rejected, and offending authors will be banned from submitting to the journal for two years.
Editorial Board
The editorial board comprises experienced researchers and experts from across Africa, Asia, and other regions. Their involvement ensures that published articles meet the standards required for indexing in reputable academic databases, including Thomson Reuters and SCImago.
Review Procedure
Each manuscript will be reviewed by two peer reviewers, who will provide the chief editor with their comments and conclusions. In order to maintain objectivity, the reviewers will be blind-copied. Articles recommended for publishing after minor edits have been made, will be considered for publication by the editorial board. Authors may also be required to review their manuscripts in line with reviewers’ comments.*
Manuscripts Requirements
Manuscripts submitted to thie journal has not been published in any form or submitted for publication elsewhere, nor is it being considered for publication. Authors should ensure that cited materials are referenced.
Email addresses and complete institutional addresses of all authors must be given in the appropriate part of the manuscript. Each author will receive an email confirming submission. The corresponding author should be identified.
Manuscripts that are submitted must have a font size of 12, Times New Roman, and 1.5 line spacing.
The following document formats are required for all submissions: doc,.docx, and.rtf.
Manuscripts should not exceed 20 pages, including the abstract, references, tables, and figures but not the title page. Authors whose articles are longer than the allotted page count will have to make revisions.
Manuscripts should include the following sections:
1. Abstract (maximum 150 words)
2. Introduction
3. Literature review
4. Methodology
5. Results and Discussion
6. References (APA compliance)
7. Appendix (optional)
Manuscripts should contain a maximum of 5 keywords and 2 JEL classification codes.
Additionally, authors can choose between US and UK English, rather than a combination of the two
Submissions of articles can be sent online or as an attachment to the journal editor’s email.
Submission fees
There are no submission fees
Article Processing Cost (APC)
Authors of accepted papers will pay an article processing fee of twenty thousand (₦20,000) naira.
